Heidi E. Abendroth MSN, APRN-BC, CPNP, CPHON and I currently work as Pediatric Nurse Practitoner on the Stem Cell Transplant Unit at Boston Children's Hospital.
I have worked in the field of pediatric hematology/oncology/stem cell transplant for over 30 years. I started my nursing career on a pediatric BMT but over the years also worked in hematology/oncology and have come full circle working again as an advanced practice provider on an inpatient stem cell transplant unit.
I have been fortunate to pursue my passion of Global Health Nursing when I traveled to Ethiopia on a medical mission teams and Uganda to assist with training nurses in the care of pediatric oncology patients.
I am honored to have the opportunity to co-moderate the Global Health Town Hall and highlight the wonderful work of our scholarship recipients.
