Judy has been a pediatric nurse for thirty one years. The majority of her career has been providing care and supporting the nurses in pediatric critical care. In 2018 she became the Director of Pediatric Programs at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. In her current role Judy is responsible for procedures, standards, and policies that affect and support nursing practice and promoting interdisciplinary clinical inquiry amongst all team members in the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. Her passion is translating evidenced based practice to the bedside. Judy has collaborated in multiple local and multi-center research studies. She also is an active participant in several national nursing organizations. Judy serves on nursing research/evidenced based practice groups for the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Society of Pediatric Nurses.
Judy also teaches as adjunct faculty at The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing working with both the Advanced Practice and Executive Doctorate of Nursing Students as both a DNP project advisor. She is a co-author on the 4th Edition of the Johns Hopkins Evidence-Based Practice for Nurses and Healthcare Professionals Model and Guidelines textbook.
Judy received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Nursing and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
