Dr. Jenny Ruiz is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and an attending physician in pediatric hematology-oncology at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She earned her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences as a C.P. Davis Scholar. Additionally, she earned her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology (MSCE) from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her pediatrics residency training at Columbia University Medical Center/New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital before moving to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for her hematology-oncology fellowship. As a physician-scientist her research focuses on investigating social determinants of health as it relates to pediatric cancer access, care, and outcomes.
